ANSI 150# Forged Steel Gate Valve

A gate valve is utilized to obstruct the movement of fluid within a system. The gate valve is designed to be either fully open or fully closed. It consists of various components, including the body, seat, stem, bonnet, wedge, gasket, and hand wheel. The central disc of the gate valve obstructs fluid flow and can be raised or lowered by rotating the wheel handle. This rotation can be performed in a clockwise direction to open or close the valve. By requiring multiple rotations of the handle between the open and closed positions, the gate valve helps prevent water hammer effects.

Furthermore, the velocity at which the fluid travels through the valve can be adjusted gradually. This gate valve is made of Forged Steel A105 material and it commonly used due to its strength and simplicity. This type of gate valve is suitable for various fluids. However, the disc design is prone to leakage. It is suitable for medium to low pressure temperature application. This gate valve can withstand working pressure up to 150 PSI and working temperature of -29°C to 150°C. Conform to ASME B16.10 design with ASME B16.5 RF Flanged end design.
